Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh to miss Bangladesh ODIs

Australia will be without Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh for the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh, with Josh Inglis continuing as interim captain. Oliver Peake and Matt Short have been retained for the Bangladesh ODIs after initially being named just for the Pakistan one-dayers.

Todd Murphy, the off-spinner who has only featured in Tests so far, has also been included. He replaces Tanveer Sangha, the leg-spinner who sustained a hamstring injury during the second ODI in Lahore.

According to national selector Tony Dodemaide, Head was initially selected for both ODIs and T20Is against Bangladesh but has been granted personal leave for both. Marsh, meanwhile, misses out due to his ankle injury, having not recovered in time, although he will join the group in Dhaka to prepare for the T20Is.

Ben Dwarshuis and Xavier Bartlett also join the squad, replacing Riley Meredith and Billy Stanlake. Meredith will return to feature in the T20Is. With Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood already missing, the ODI squad lacks its usual experience, but Inglis hopes this creates chances for the newer members.
